For most distributors, the process is all about pass-through standards. They pass-through the product, and by default, they are passing through the testing process. Not North Coast Seal. If it is leaving our center, we want to do the testing. We ask all our manufacturing partners to give us some quality samples to test and then ask our customers to try them out. Once the compound passes our and our customers’ inspections, we enter that into our system as an acceptable product. No more taking anyone’s word for it. You can trust that if North Coast Seal is supplying your rubber materials, it will perform the way you need it to.
A plant that produces rubber compounds is not unlike the kitchen in a 5-star restaurant. All rubber compounds have a recipe that works, ensuring that the needs and requirements you have for performance are met. We test all the compound formulas we receive for performance, and when we find the right mix, we put it in our FTIR machine, store it as a good known sample, name it and have it on hand, ready for the next time you need it.
O-rings seem simple to a layman. They all look similar, and if they are the right size and hardness, one would think that they would work for most environments. This simply isn’t the case, because all rubber compounds are made to handle different conditions in unique ways. If your material isn’t tested and verified, you run the risk of product failure, and in our industry, that could lead to accidents, injuries, or worse. You can’t afford to trust in your distributors to take your projects as seriously as you do. If they aren’t testing and verifying for every client they serve, they are putting your reputation and the safety of your customers in jeopardy. At North Coast Seal, your product is our product. We will test and verify that every product you receive from us functions the way you need it to. No surprises and no disappointments.
