North Coast Seal takes O-ring inspection seriously. We start with verifying the rubber compounds we supply for each customer to ensure that the formula works for the individual application, but we don’t stop there. Our automated inspection machine ensures that once the compound takes the shape needed by our customers, it holds up to the standards we expect for performance. We use state-of-the-art equipment to get an in-depth look at each product before it is packaged up and shipped out. You can trust the products we send because they have been rigorously inspected to ensure the best quality.
It is important to note that we offer O-rings at NCS that have a dual certification of NSF 51 and 61 dual-certified materials. This certification indicates that your product will meet very specific public health standards for any materials used in food and beverage production—ensuring trust for your manufacturers and customers.
North Coast Seal offers O-rings manufactured from NSF 51 and NSF 61 dual-certified materials. These certifications confirm that materials meet stringent public health standards for food, beverage, and potable water applications.
For manufacturers, this means greater confidence in material compliance, reduced risk, and increased trust throughout the supply chain.
All NSF-certified O-rings and molded rubber products at North Coast Seal undergo a rigorous, automated inspection process before leaving our facility. Using high-grade cameras, laser measurement, and advanced inspection software, each part is evaluated to ensure it meets required performance and dimensional specifications.
Each inspection cycle verifies:
• Surface integrity and flash
• Dimensional accuracy
• Concentricity and inclusions
• Material consistency
• Lot traceability and repeatability
This automated approach minimizes human variability while ensuring consistent quality at scale. Defective or out-of-tolerance parts are identified and removed before packaging, reducing downstream risk for manufacturers.
By the time inspection is complete, your parts meet the high standards required in critical industries such as natural gas, aerospace, and automotive—where adherence to specifications is essential.
Fast and accurate inspection is critical when rubber component performance matters. North Coast Seal’s automated inspection and packaging systems allow parts to be inspected, sorted, and packaged immediately after approval.
This process:
• Reduces handling and contamination risk
• Preserves batch integrity
• Supports high-volume, high-precision requirements
No matter the industry, when inspection accuracy is vital, NCS delivers dependable results.
North Coast Seal utilizes advanced equipment to ensure inspection accuracy and fast turnaround. Key technologies include:

Analyzes material and directly compares it to the customer’s approved sample, rating it on a 100 point scale with 93 points being considered a match. The process is done automatically and not subject to any operator input. This machine calibrates itself every cycle.

Electronic scale that measures weight in air and water. This procedure verifies that we have the correct base material.

This oven is calibrated to perform compression set testing which requires heating controlled within +/- 1°. Results of the test tell us that the product being tested has been properly cured or baked during the manufacturing process.

This is tested on all incoming parts per customers’ specifications. The number derived from this test tells us the hardness of the material. This is expressed numerically using an industry adopted scale which was developed by the Shore Manufacturing Company.
Hector the Inspector is an automated sorting system designed to inspect parts on both sides using two rotating tables. Parts are loaded in bulk and automatically separated into approved and rejected bins based on predefined tolerances.
Hector delivers:
• Consistent repeatability
• Full batch traceability
• Automated reporting of accepted parts
After inspection, Hector’s integrated packaging system automatically bags approved parts using pneumatic sealing for efficiency and consistency.

Molly the Measurer is a precision measurement system used to collect dimensional data on incoming and outgoing products. Using a telecentric lens, Molly captures distortion-free images for fast and accurate 2D and 3D measurements.
This system allows us to:
Molly plays a key role in maintaining consistent quality standards throughout the inspection process.
